Hyodline

Hyodine ®is a medical device intended for healing a wide range of chronic and acute wounds, including infected wounds. The gel structure makes the product suitable also for healing very deep wounds, cavities and fistulae. Product efficacy is based on the synergistic effect of hyaluronic acid and iodine. In the product, hyaluronic acid is designed to promote a moist wound environment supporting the migration and viability of cells and draw excessive exudate out of the wound. The content of the iodine complex protects hyaluronic acid from bacteria degradation and at the same time provides antimicrobial protection to the wound.

Healing is faster and more reliable

Hyodine® is a medical device creating ideal conditions for the successful healing of any wound. The high quantity of hyaluronic acid effectively boosts the natural regeneration of damaged tissues. The iodine complex cleans the wound and protects it from infection.

Gel form dressing for deep wounds

Because it is in gel form, Hyodine® can be applied to very deep and hard-to-reach wounds. It is highly effective in healing fistulae, undermined wounds and pockets. The healing gel simply flows wherever it is needed.

Highly safe

The natural composition of Hyodine® is behind its maximum safety and high efficacy. As a result, Hyodine® can be used for deepest wounds with exposed bone structures, tendons or joint capsules.

How to use?
  1. Pierce the vial cap with the attached spike and connect the sterile syringe.
  2. Draw the required amount of gel into the syringe (approximately 1 ml per 10 cm2 of wound).
  3. Apply directly on the wound bed or a carrier dressing (non-woven fabric or sterile gauze). Do not use on black necrotic tissue.
  4. Work Hyodine® into the carrier with your fingers until it has become well saturated.
  5. Cover with a suitable secondary dressing.
  6. Depending on the state of the wound, re-dress every 24 hours for infected wounds or every 48 hours for non-infected wounds.

Characteristics

Sodium hyaluronate is a linear, negatively charged polysaccharide. It is a naturally occurring component of the organism (especially the extracellular matrix) and as such, it is
non-toxic and does not cause allergic or other hypersensitivity reactions. Sodium hyaluronate has unique physical and chemical properties, high hydration capacity and
excellent anti-adhesive properties, creating conditions conducive to natural wound healing.
Iodine and potassium iodide are used to prevent the rapid decay of sodium hyaluronate by bacteria present in and around the wound.

Indications

Hyodine® is used to cover, clean and hydrate deep wounds and skin defects, in particular deep pressure ulcers (bedsores), diabetic defects, crural ulcers, burns, post-operation
wounds, difficult-to-heal wounds and large abrasions. Hyodine® is also suitable for the treatment of infected wounds. Its hydrating properties prevent the dressing from
sticking to the wound and it maintains conditions suitable for the wound to heal. The use of Hyodine® in extensive and infected wounds should be always consulted with a
physician.

Caution

Individuals suffering from thyroid problems should consult their physician prior to the use of Hyodine®. On application of Hyodine®, iodine present in the product may
transform into iodide, which is necessary for the production of the thyroid hormone. In patients using other iodine preparations, it is necessary to consult the used dose with a
physician.

Contraindications

No adverse effects are known for local application of sodium hyaluronate.
Iodine contained in this product may cause allergic reactions in persons who are sensitive to iodine.

Shelf life

24 months.
Use within 6 weeks of opening.

Adverse effects

Sodium hyaluronate is well tolerated. At present, there are no known adverse effects after local application. Iodine contained in this product may cause allergic reactions in
persons who are sensitive to iodine. No such reactions have been observed in the use of Hyodine®.
